A Levelで学ぶ科目を見極める土台となる学年。
必須選択科目として、英語(母国語または外国語としての英語)、数学、科学(化学、生物、物理の内より最低限1科目)があり、日本語または中国語が母国語の学生は自分の母国語を学ぶ事になります。また、選択科目として、デザイン、経済学、プログラミング、デザインテクノロジー、演劇、音楽、ビジネス、地理、歴史、コンピューターサイエンス、体育、宗教学、統計学などの教科があります。
その他にも、自分の興味のある教科を深く学べる授業や、「Future」と呼ばれるコースでは、大学の進路選択や将来のキャリアなどを考えたり、グローバル市民として活躍するスキルなどを学ぶ事になります。
