Student Safeguarding
Harrow Appi is committed to the safety and protection of all our students. All staff and visitors are expected to comply with our student protection and safeguarding policies and procedures.
Safeguarding is central to the Harrow family ethos. Our expectation is that all stakeholders share and understand this commitment. Harrow Appi ensures that students are supported and empowered to achieve their academic and personal potential. The foundation for enabling this is a commitment to the highest moral standards and to international benchmarks for safeguarding and student wellbeing.
We provide a safe and welcoming environment where all students are respected and valued.
We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect, follow robust procedures which ensure that ‘at risk’ students receive effective support, protection and justice.
Our philosophy and vision are aligned with those of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). Central to this is the acknowledgment that every young person has basic fundamental rights; these include the right to develop and to fulfil their potential, to express their opinions, to be listened to, and to be protected from violence, abuse or neglect.
All of Harrow Appi staff have been carefully screened and have undergone comprehensive safeguarding training on joining us. Audit of the school’s safeguarding provision will be regularly carried out by the International Child Protection Advisors (ICPA), who will also provide ongoing training for our staff.
